Reasons to Volunteer

We care about patients and our volunteering providers. Below are reasons why our volunteers love We Care:

Schedule Flexibility

We Care Network staff schedule patients with volunteers on a fair, rotating basis. We respect your desired level of commitment to the program. You simply set the parameters of your donation, and we find patients you can help based on the guidelines you provide.  To learn more about the referral process, click here.

Seamless Care

It is the goal of the We Care Network to provide eligible patients seamless care with volunteering physicians. Volunteer physicians have the flexibility to incorporate We Care Network patients into their regular office hour schedule of appointments. We Care Network patients may have care donated by either of the local hospitals along with the local diagnostic centers in addition to any care you are donating.

Sovereign Immunity

The Florida Department of Health’s Volunteer Health Care Provider Program provides liability protection through state-sponsored sovereign immunity. This Florida statute extends liability protection to providers if a lawsuit results from services rendered under the auspices of the We Care Network.  For more on this click here.

Continuing Medical Education Credits

Volunteer physicians can earn CMEs for their participation in the program.

Helping your community

The program fills a critical gap in healthcare access to those who otherwise would not receive care or would seek care in emergency rooms and further contribute to the current heath care burden of local physicians, hospitals and their communities. The community is not the only benefactor. The volunteers themselves benefit in many ways.

If you are interested in volunteering with the We Care Network simply contact our offices. Shannon Boyle is our volunteer coordinator. Any questions may be addressed by the We Care Network staff Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM on our provider backline at (850) 201-0130.
